Cisco Anyconnect VPN Client Setup on Microsoft Windows

This tutorial explains how to setup the Cisco Anyconnect VPN client for use on Microsoft Windows.

1. First download a copy of the Cisco AnyConnect software for Windows by Clicking Here.  Save the file to a folder on your computer.

3. Open the installer file by right-clicking the file and choosing Open.

4. If you get a Windows protection warning, not to worry, Microsoft just doesn't recognize the custom installer.   Click on the More Info option, then choose the Run Anyway option down the bottom.

5. Start the install by pressing Next.

6. After a moment finish the install by pressing Finish.

7. You can now load the Cisco Anyconnect client using the Icon on your desktop or from your start menu.  After you have loaded Cisco Anyconnect for the first time you can also open it from your Windows task bar.

8. From the Cisco Anyconnect dialog box select the PERTH IPSEC VPNCLOUD option unless otherwise instructed by your technical support team.  Then press Connect.

9. Enter your Username and Password credentials when prompted.

10. If you have entered the details correctly after several seconds you will see your connection status represented by a Green Tick.

11. You can monitor your VPN connectivity using the small Icon in the Windows Task bar.  The padlock icon means you are connected to the remote network over a VPN encrypted tunnel.

12. To disconnect the VPN connection. Open the AnyConnect software as before and press the Disconnect button.
