Onwards from 1st August 2025, Webvault will be adjusting the price of some NBN plans. These changes are driven by wholesale pricing updates from NBN Co, CPI indexation, and rising backhaul costs as more customers migrate to higher-speed services. Customers will be notified on their invoices.
Several factors are contributing to necessary adjustments in retail NBN pricing:
📊 CVC Pricing Changes – Under NBN Co’s roadmap, the cost of Connectivity Virtual Circuit (CVC) is being reduced and phased out by 2027. However, during the transition period, lower-speed plans carry higher per-user CVC costs, increasing the overall expense of delivering these services.
📈 CPI Indexation – NBN Co applies CPI-based adjustments to wholesale charges annually. Increases occurred in July 2024 and occurred again in July 2025, raising the underlying cost base for all providers.
🚚 Backhaul Costs – As more users migrate to faster plans (50 Mbps and above), Webvault must provision additional network capacity. This adds to our operational costs, particularly across interstate and metropolitan backhaul.
Some plan prices will increase from 1st August 2025.
Higher-speed plans (such as 100 Mbps and above) now represent better value for money, offering greater inclusions and performance benefits compared to lower-speed tiers.
These changes reflect NBN Co’s broader direction, encouraging migration to higher speeds for more consistent service and long-term simplicity.
If you are impacted by a price change, you may wish to:
📦 Remain on your existing plan at the new adjusted price.
🚀 Upgrade to a higher-speed plan for greater value and better performance. Many customers find that higher-tier plans deliver improved reliability, streaming quality, and multi-user capacity at only a modest increase in cost.
